In Nakaseke District, authorities have apprehended a 47-year-old woman on suspicions of fatally attacking her husband in Kassaga Village, Nakaseke Sub County. The victim, 60-year-old John Bosco Kalemera, a local traditional healer, was allegedly hacked to death at his home around 11 pm.
Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Sam Twiineamazima, revealed that investigations are ongoing, with the police actively searching for the unidentified assailants. Initial findings indicate that Kalemera sustained fatal wounds from a machete, though the assailants remain at large.
Interestingly, Kalemera’s wife, who was present during the attack, emerged unscathed. However, authorities have detained her to aid in the ongoing investigations, as the circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear.
The crime scene investigation uncovered a basin with water mixed with blood, indicating that someone may have attempted to wash their hands or the murder weapon.
A team of detectives has been meticulously examining the crime scene and gathering statements from witnesses, including the village chairman. Meanwhile, the victim’s body has been transported to Nakaseke hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
